OCEAN ATHLETICS MIDDLE DISTANCE RUNNERS OUTSTANDING IN OTTAWA AT THE 2022 CANADIAN XC CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!

Our athletes did much more than hold their own at the Cdn XC champs !!! Mark Pinckard kicked it off with a Silver medal in the Men’s 60-64 8k. Isaac Baker (8k) & Abigail Yakemchuik (6km) in the U20s, followed up with 19th & 40th place finishes. Outstanding!! Our U18 Men (6km) continued the blue wave with Yemane Mulugeta taking the Silver and Connor Nicol not far behind in 5th. Steph Snyman (25) and James Hodgson (32) cemented the Ocean U18 Men’s Club Category Silver against a strong team from University of Toronto!!! And in the final event of the day, Maella Hodgson ran a superb race with a killer kick to take 4th in the U18 Womens 4km. Mackenzie Hack added in a 35th place finish to give the U18 Womens BC Team to the Branch Team Gold. Outstanding everyone. You have done Ocean proud.

Mark Pinckard Silver M60-64,

Maella Hodgson(4th individual) and Mackenzie Hack (35th) Team BC Gold. There was a total of 210 runners in that field.

Ocean Club U18 Boys Team Silver (out of 25 teams and 270 runners) with Yemane Mulugeta (Silver individual), Connor Nicol (5th), Steph Snyman (25th), James Hodgson (32nd) and Bernardo Sada (210 - recovering from illness). Yemane and Connor were also members of Team BC Bronze in the region team results.

Abigail Yakemchuk (40th) who represented Ocean Athletics and Team BC in U20 Women 6km.

Yemane Mukugeta comes away with 3 medals with his individual silver, club team silver and region team bronze. Congratulations Yemane and everyone on Ocean Athletics and Team BC on your outstanding Nationals and in fact your entire season.
